Step-by-step protocol

Clean & Dry
Wash the area to remove oils and residue, then dry fully. Clean skin helps numbing behave more predictably.

Apply an Even Layer
Apply a uniform layer of topical anaesthetic across the full treatment zone (plus a small margin). Strength and dosing vary by formulation—verify the label and follow your local SOP.

Occlude & Wait
Cover with occlusive film to reduce evaporation and support penetration. Typical wait time is ~15–30 minutes (adjust for area sensitivity and procedure depth).

Remove Completely
Remove the film and wipe away all residual cream thoroughly. Residual topical anaesthetic should not be pushed into injection tracks or microchannels.

Disinfect & Start
Disinfect the area (e.g., chlorhexidine or 70% isopropyl alcohol) and proceed within the comfort window.
